What Are Minis?

At the Stackhouse, our mini prints are the smallest size we offer as giclee prints. They can be printed on all our papers except canvas.

These mini prints mimic the style of vintage instant film prints. There is a portrait and a landscape version to fit your artwork's original orientation.

Paper Types

Matte Fibre, Luster, Glossy, Metallic Glossy, Hot Press Bright, Cold Press Bright, William Turner, Photo Rag, and FineArt Baryta.

Borders

1/4-inch border with a 1/2-inch bottom weight.

Printing

12-Color Giclee Printing.

Sizes

3 x 3.75" final size.

When to Use Them?

Minis are great for low-risk sales. You can order more for less, offering a higher margin with a great upsell. This can be significant for bundles, proofing, or events. These smaller type prints are also easy to ship.

Some example uses for mini prints:

  • Gifts
  • Bookmarks
  • Place cards
  • Proofing or Sampling art
  • Marketing tool (give aways)

There are many different strategies for pricing your art prints. These minis are desirable because they can be priced lower than other art prints. A lower sale price can also allow a larger audience to buy from you.

Pros vs. Cons

As seen above, there can be many perks to using mini prints in your product line. However, we also wanted to highlight some cons regarding these miniature sizes.

  1. Small sizes may not allow for easy visibility of tiny details from the original artwork. The shrinking of the image might not give enough room to show off the already small details in your file. Contact us if you have any concerns about the resolution of your piece.
  2. Our minis are a unique print size. The 3 x 3.75'' ratio might not fit into a standard frame or bag. This is one thing to remember when adding minis to your lineup. Sizes like 4 x 4'', 4 x 6'', or 5 x 5'' can also be considered mini prints. Try using those sizes as mini prints to standardize them.
